Team & Settings
GeoData supports team-based access so everyone in your organization can share purchased data, manage settings, and collaborate without needing separate purchases.
Team Management
Inviting Team Members
As an admin, you can invite colleagues to join your GeoData workspace:
- Go to Settings in your dashboard sidebar
- Navigate to the Team Members section
- Click Invite Team Member
- Enter their email address and select a role (Admin or Member)
- Click Send Invitation
The invitee will receive an email with a link to join your workspace. Invitations expire after 7 days -- if the link expires, you can resend it from the pending invitations list.
Roles
GeoData has two roles:
Admin
- Can invite and remove team members
- Can manage company settings and name
- Can view all orders and purchase history
- Full access to all purchased data
- Can manage payment methods
Member
- Full access to all purchased data
- Can run queries and download data
- Can view their own query history
- Cannot invite or manage team members
- Cannot manage billing or payment methods
Shared Purchases
When any team member purchases state data, that purchase is shared across the entire organization. This means:
- Everyone on the team can query and download data from any purchased state
- There's no need to buy the same state twice for different people
- New members automatically get access to all existing purchases when they join
Managing Members
From the Team Members section in Settings, admins can:
- View all current team members with their roles and join dates
- Remove members from the organization
- View and manage pending invitations (resend or cancel)
Account Settings
Profile
Your profile section shows your name and email address. You can update your display name at any time.
Company Name
Admins can set or update the company name from the Team Members section. This name is displayed across the workspace and on invoices.
Payment Methods
Manage your saved payment methods for faster checkout:
- Add a card -- securely add a new credit or debit card through Stripe
- View saved cards -- see all stored payment methods with card brand, last 4 digits, and expiration date
- Remove a card -- delete payment methods you no longer want stored
Order History
View all past orders with:
- Order date and total amount
- States purchased in each order
- POI counts per state
- Invoice download links
Change Password
Update your account password from the dedicated Change Password page in Settings. You'll need to enter your new password and confirm it.
How Invitations Work
When you invite someone to your team:
- An email is sent to the invitee with a secure invitation link
- The link is valid for 7 days
- If the invitee already has a GeoData account, they'll be added to your organization immediately upon accepting
- If the invitee is new to GeoData, they'll create an account as part of the acceptance flow and be automatically added to your organization
- Once accepted, the new member immediately gets access to all shared data
Pending invitations can be resent or canceled at any time from the Team Members section. If someone hasn't accepted within 7 days, simply resend the invitation to generate a fresh link.
